When we were in Fatz a couple of weeks ago, we mentioned being from Johnson City. The waiter mentioned a new Fats was going to open in Jonesborough in the general area of the Lowes (perhaps in the parking lot or nearby).

Fatz is going in at 3101 West Market Street where Stefanos used to be next to the Walmart.
The dumpsters aree there and they are cutting the building. Hubby got his hair cut next door at Great Clips and the stylist confirmed that Fatz is coming . She said it will be pen this summer.

Absolutely I can see the building from my house and the Fatz light was turned on last night for the first time, not sure if it is open yet just a lot of work going on to get it ready for opening. It is in the strip mall next to Walmart near the medical center.

I drove by there yesterday and saw their sign. The banner said opening in June. Can't wait until it opens. Haven't seen any life in any of the other properties that were suppose to be transformed though.

I am surprised that they didnt have one in JC along time ago... cant let Bristol have a restaurant that Johnson City doesnt have.

I think though now with the booming and busy exit 7 area in northeast Bristol, that they have the edge on restaurants now, which is a huge turnaround from say, 10 years ago.

Seems to me like a regional approach would work best in affairs like this. Let's promote both Bristol and Johnson City, as well as Kingsport, Elizabethton and Greeneville.

I agree. I really don't think any of the Tri-Cities should be in competition to see who has the most places to eat or the best shopping etc. This includes Elizabethtonn, Erwin, Greeneville. & Jonesborough. We should all be working together to promote this wonderful area we call home not pit one town against another. The goverments do a good job of that.
