Love these pictures! I may forward them to a friend, since I'm planning on moving to Southwest VA this year, and I have to keep explaining to people why I want to move there!

That part of Greene County is gorgeous, I'd never been there before.

Here are a few shots from the Fairview School Road area, about 2 mi. SSW of Blountville in Sullivan County:

Every few days I'll jump on here just to see if you have new photos. After my wedding in June I plan on making plans for another trip down to East Tennessee. It may be a solo trip or my fiancee may come along. She's more of an ocean kind of girl. Me, I love those mountains and the people that live around them. Roan Mountain is calling my name.

Josh, I know what you mean about Roan Mountain. Once you experience the balds up there, you're hooked for life. Sure hope your future wife gets to experience it with you!

Here are a few shots from a long walk yesterday in Telford (western Washington County).

Took a drive over to Shady Valley yesterday, where it's still early spring.

This unusual stone silo is the only one I've ever seen in NE Tennessee.

Above Shady Valley, some "trail angels" had set up camp along the Cross Mountain stretch of the Appalachian Trail. They were offering free hot dogs, drinks & cell phone calls to anyone passing through.

Shady Valley easily had to be one of the most scenic areas of Tennessee that I traveled. Love the pictures. That day I took 91 from Elizabethton to Hwy 421 had a lot of beautiful vistas. That was my first time down there (October 2008). You guys had just gotten your first snow. Those were the days.
