Kids will be kids and think that the world is their oyster. One day in the past maybe it was, not so much today. I say stay at home as long as you can and save, save, save. And get educated in something-a skilled trade or college.

Don't rush to get old. It ain't all that.

I tell my daughter all the time that the locks on the door are to keep people OUT not IN. As far as curfews go, she is only eleven but she remembers when one of her elder sisters blew curfew; she had to sleep on the doormat. She never did that sugar honey ice tea again. Good luck.

Then the Secret Service will be keeping you from having a life anyway.

To be legally emancipated at 17 you must have a job or some means of support, living arrangements that do not include couch surfing at your friends, among other little details.

Chill out. Trust me, the streets of LV are not the place to be. Friends or their parents tire of you. The job market pretty much sucks right now and if you're under 16 it's very hard to find employment and if you do, the limitations on what you can do and how many hours and what hours of the day you can do it are strict.

If you're having serious family issues, get some help. It's there but you have to ask for it and accept it. If you're just having a normal "gawd I hate my folks" day do this: Take a drive through some ratty neighborhood, watch the news for about 10 minutes, read the history of what happened to the Vietnamese when Saigon fell, talk to a soldier that just got back from Iraq. Then tell me how bad your day was, okay?

Keep us posted and, good luck

Then, chances are good that you've named your child some whacky name and that the kid's grandma winks quite a bit.

... and keep mumbling about "keeping her options open."

“I'm like, OK, God, if there is an open door for me somewhere, this is what I always pray, I'm like, don't let me miss the open door.”

...and if the door is open, then I pray, Dear God, please don't let it hit me in the *** as it closes behind me.

It just depends on your situation. I left my house at 16 in Florida to go to college. Not like everyone that leaves at 16 or 17 is leaving to drop out of school.
