Right now there are only 2 casino's being planned and one is in development. Aliante station is under construction and another casino is planned for Park Highlands, closer to Losee and the beltway, even though the city council originally denied it. I found out this info at the City hall town meeting at the Aliante library on Dec.3rd.

I believe a site on N. Lamb and Ann or Centennial is also zoned for a casino.
I might have read that it is owned by Boyd gaming
A super sized casino has been proposed near the corner of I-15 and I-215 in NLV
It is suppose to have sports arenas, fields and various other sports facilities.

Here's a link to the map of Northtown. If you just avoid living anywhere in or near there, you will be fine.

And that is about as good as it gets. It is either the name of the NLV Airport...or a coloquial name of North Las Vegas...or a coloquial name for the area north of downtown or all or some or none of the above.

Pretty much has the same relationship to NLV as hooterville does to Henderson.

that is way wrong because the mlk area isn't considered northtown, it is the west side or West Las Vegas...North town is near 5th and Lake Mead area, east and north

Yep, lvkewlkid, i got the map from a link on here. It was from Vegas215s old site. I noticed some area's are NOT in northtown like they show on the map... like the nlv airport, but that's the only map i could find related to it. If you have a link to a better one, please post it.

I should add, the border is allegedly more like:
Cheyenne to the north, Lamb to the east, Bonanza to the south and MLK to the west is generally the area to avoid.
Some call it Nor'town or Northtown. Others refer to it as the infamous "west side." This was back before the west side kept going and going and now it's The Lakes/Summerlin/Peccole Ranch on the far west side, and there's nothing undesirable about that area.

Yes, it is amazing that even long time residents think the area of Lake Mead/Vegas and MLK is in NLV!

> We are moving to a new house in Ardiente (near Losee and Tropical). its a bit bleak all around us, but we hope that eventually the town will grow around us and our house value will double. We are close to mountains on the North and East. But we have to travel 20-30 minutes to get to good restaurants.

Depends on what you consider "good".

If Aliante Station has anything like Hank's (Green Valley Ranch) or T-Bone (Red Rock Station) then we're in luck . Pricey, yes, but both of those are outstanding, and I hope Aliante has something similar.

Otherwise, it's the chain gang - Applebee's, Chili's, Ruby Tuesday's, etc. along Craig or 215.
