The current is actually a median increase of 96 cents per day.

Even if the citizens of Clark County are willing to play that game, is a stadium for the Raiders the best use of the money? Maybe there are other projects that would have more positive economic impact.

Remember the genesis of this project. It is a ploy by Sheldon Adelson to divert the LVCVA from expanding the convention center, which competes with his Sand Expo Center. So maybe putting that money into the convention center would be a better investment.

They are, they are going to be building both the stadium and expanding the convention center

Wrong question. Is it a use that makes the Strip better? And does it justify its cost? That would be in terms of jobs and revenue. Help takes to 50 or 55 million tourists a year?

Adelson would like to have used it to derail the Convention Center expansion but that never got off the ground. Everyone closed up to protect that expenditure.

There are still lots of good questions like naming rights and the mysterious $335 million in infrastructure. And how the finances turn out.

This is not accurate. The LVCC expansion already passed the Tourism Committee and is awaiting action by the Legislature. The stadium deal is far from a sure thing in terms of ever making it out of the Tourism Committee. If it does, it still must pass the entire legislative process as well as win three quarters of NFL owners. That doesn't include the possibility the Committee approves a proposal that Sands and friends find unacceptable, which effectively kills it.

I wonder if public support will change as a result of today's game between the Raiders and the Seahawks.

A single good game or an entire season for that matter will have little effect on the "Raiders suck" crowd. They haven't had a winning season since 2002. With that said, another 4-12 season would have little effect on the proponents.

Did anyone notice that the bond payments are to last for 33 years! This whole fiasco is a boondoggle for taxpayers. I support a stadium, but not at this level. Stadiums are only good for about 20 years, but we'll (tourist, our bread and butter) will still be paying on this for 13 years after the stadium is outdated.

There is no doubt taxpayers will end up on the hook for this in one way or another. At minimum the public will pay for police and emergency. At worst the calculation is off and our property and sales taxes must subsidize it.

This is an embarrassment if the Legislature passes this. We will have created a public/private partnership with a company that has a history of paying massive fines for corruption charges while at the same time giving a billionaire $750 million in tax money while at the same time the public receives no revenues. The national press will have a field day with that.

Indianapolis is cheering for this. If it happens, that city will no longer be mentioned as the worst stadium deal in history.
