Default Anyone familiar with the Smoke Ranch?

Anyone familiar with The Smoke Ranch neighborhood? It has a clubhouse with a pool and two tennis courts. The association is called The Smoke Ranch Maintenance District. It is off of Rainbow and Smoke Ranch. We are looking at some homes in the neighborhood. Drove through it yesterday, and it seems nice.

I am posting it here as well as the RJ forum because now since Papadon has responded to it on the RJ forum, I think everyone will go near the post I made with a 10-foot pole.

I really hope Olecapt can give me some good information since he is familiar with the area.

Set of early 90s tracts with shared pool/clubhouse/tennis courts. Reasonably nice place. Walk to the movies and a reasonable Sushi Bar and Barbeque House. If you got grade school kids caution...Fong is a very weak school. Bunker is OK. I am sure you know the high school is Cimarron. Prices range from the low 200s for some of the smaller home tracts to upper 300s in some of the bigger units.

I like it around there. It is one of the very few Vegas neighborhoods were you can literally walk to dinner. The obligatory Video Pub is also walkable. 25% less than it would be in Desert Shores.

Note that the neighborhood drops off to the south as you get toward Lake Mead. Gets quite challenging south of that Boulevard.

OK, thanks for the info. I'm still going to the same high school as it is magnet, and the bus stop would be closer and I wouldn't have to wake up as early to catch the bus either.
