This morning I was driving to work and was stuck outside of a school because there were about 20 SUVs (not exaggerating) all trying to get into one lane of drop-off space... I don't see why kids can't sit in a sedan anymore these days. If I ever have a kid, they'd better like the backseat of my Nissan Versa because I REFUSE to buy a stupid SUV.
If you ever have a kid, you will find that packing up the baby and said baby gear gets a tad overwhelming.
If you ever have a kid, hopefully they won't become involved in sports that require you to lug gear.
If you ever have a kid, hopefully they will choose a small musical instrument which will fit in your vehicle.
Now add another kid or two to the mix.
You might not opt for an SUV, but you could very well end up with a minivan or crossover to carry little Petunia and Throckmorton as well as their things.

1 -I never understand why people park opposite the end of driveways when there are plenty of other places to park on the street. It makes backing a car out of the driveway much harder.
2 -People who rake their leaves to the curb and leave them there - so the next big wind blows them onto someone else's lawn.
3 - Shopping mall queens who leave their shopping carts behind other cars when they are finished using them.
4 - People who take up more than one parking space with their cars.
5 - This is particular to Long Island - when purchasing gas at a gas station with a convenience store, people park their cars in front of the store and run in for a cup of coffee or lottery ticket, ignoring the ten parking spaces. Many times I then get blocked in by people who drive in and use the adjacent gasoline pump (rightfully so) . I called a guy on this last week , he said "hey, I'll only be a minute"... five minutes later he appeared to find his own car blocked in by me ! I then said to him "hey, I'll only be a minute !" , he called me something unmentionable, but I honestly think he was too stupid to realize what I was doing ...

I agree with them all, but number 5 is not particular only to LI. I have experienced that quite often in Vermont. Folks pull in, get their gas, head inside for whatever, have a conversation with their friends -- all while completely oblivious to the cars lining up for fuel. They eventually saunter across the empty parking spaces, and give a little sheepish wave as they slip into the car.

these days every other gas station has a mini-supermarket on site. The ones that don't have ample parking are nightmares.

Don't you know people who don't have kids know more than people who do? Don't you know you've ALWAYS had kids, therefore you can't possibly know what it's like NOT to have them?

Don't you know when people who don't have kids but know everything about having them....actually have a kid....it turns into the Specialist of Snowflakes that are soooo different from all the other kids that THEY MUST HAVE ALL THE THINGS THAT WERE RANTED AGAINST PREVIOUSLY?! I believe there is a direct correlation between "I'll never do.....when I have kids" and how obnoxious a parent that person eventually becomes.

You do realize that back in the 50's, 60's and 70's these 4WDs weren't called SUVs? Willys, Ford and Chevy all made 4WD vehicles, some more family oriented (Bronco and Suburbans)
They also used minivans and station wagons before the 90's.
My mom's 69 station wagon was 219.6" long -- almost 21" longer than my SUV (198.8 long)
