the remotes are identical but the samsung box had a delayed reaction when surfing channels. I hope they fix the problem.

I'll gladly take the delay reaction of the Scientific Atlanta box in exchange for having the VCR timer, which the Samsung box lacks. I just hope that Cablevision doesn't take away my Scientific Atlanta box.

Does anyone know of a way to emulate the function of the VCR timer using the Samsung box? I seriously doubt it.

Taz,
How did you finally resolve it?
Cablevision tried replacing the cable box & it's still the same problem. It was all working fine until a week ago. Problem started once i installed the XBOM HDMI to my second HDMI port on my Samsung 32 inch TV.
I tried disconnecting the XBMOX HDMI, but no luck. I have a Samsung Cable box.
