We are heading to Bridgehampton from Central NJ and can leave anytime Friday or Saturday. When is the best time to go? Also, when is a good time to come back on Sunday?

beware of the construction on the Cross Bronx/Alexander Hamilton bridge heading into NYC (eastbound). Use Outerbridge or Goethals. DO NOT use the GW Bridge into NYC

I agree ; do not use GW Bridge. I would take the holland or lincoln into and then the midtown out of manhatten. It would be better to leave fri morning and try to be out of the city by 2pm.

You have to be in the beginning of the hamptons (west) before 9am. Anytime after that and you will hit HUGE delays.

People rent out their mansions or very large homes to families in the summer. My mom was looking at that online and one house she saw had 6 bedrooms each with their own private bath, maid service, all amenities except you cook your own meals, built in pool, bicycles, stuff for babies and children like toys, high chairs, cribs ect, access to the beach for $5,000 a week, $30,000 a month. Seems outrageous but if you can get alot of people to go for a week and chip in it's worth it. I particularly don't care for the hamptons but I would consider a 1 week stay in a home like that maybe just once if I could afford that LOL.
