Also, If they raise the tax rate up, its better than gettign hit with a 14% increase!!! I just dont want to get hit again next year when everyone else files grievances again, and then I get slammed for another 1300.....
I doubt the grievance companies have any "connections" that will help you win.

They charge 1/2 of your tax savings on the first year. I suggest doing it yourself.

I did it myself. In Nassau County, it's easy. Hop on Zillow.com, redfin.com, or something similar, and search for recent sales near you. Simply pick houses that have the same approximate square footage, bedrooms, baths, lot size, age, and other characteristics that have sold for a good deal less than your assessed value, pop those comparables into the online grievance application, and hope for the best.
