Agree. It must suck to have to stand on your feet all day for $7.25/hour. I can understand their grumpiness.
I always have to say "thank you" and "have a nice day" to the cashier. Why are they NOT being trained to say that to customers?? It's so freaking rude! When I was a teenager and worked at a snack stand, the owner was so stict about that. He drilled it into us to always say "thank you", "is there anything else I can help you with?" "have a nice day".
Well maybe you can explain their grumpiness to me; no one owes anyone a job. The entitlement state has spoiled many generations.
Awwwww...my feelings got hurt. What a bunch of diaperboys. You get your Depends all in a knot because someone didn't say "Thank you" or "Have a pleasant day". Boofrigginwho.

Go to work, stand on your feet for 8 hours, deal with a bunch of rude/nasty customers, and do it all for $7.25 per hour. See how happy you are at the end of the day. It's still no excuse for not saying "thank you" or "have a nice day".
No, no one "owes" anyone anything. However, I think if someone felt "entitled", they wouldn't bother working for $7.25/hour --- they would be laying back and chilling out on the gov't dime.

It's not about "feelings being hurt". It's about CUSTOMER SERVICE. If I'm in your store making a purchase, the very least you can do is thank me for supporting your business or BE PLEASANT to people who are making sure you stay in business.
Once I was at Rite Aid and I held my hand out for the change, which was a bunch of coins, and the girl bypassed my open hand and plunked the coins down on the counter. I think I had bathed that day so I don't know what her problem was. It's not easy to pick up a bunch of coins off a counter. Rite Aid has one of those service surveys on the receipt so I went online and gave her zeros across the board and in the comments wrote that if she worked for me she would be fired on the spot for doing that to a customer. For whatever reason she did not work at the store long.

I wish all cashiers would do this. You're in the wrong here.

Why? Do you think you are avoiding germs this way? Hate to break it to you but the coins have already been touched by hundreds of people who have passed on to the coins whatever germs and dirt they are carrying. Are the kind of person who uses a paper towel to open the bathroom door and then drop it on the floor?

I agree. Big pet peeve when a cashier bypasses an open hand and places money on the counter. Money is filthy and full of germs. What difference does it make if you accept dirty money all day full of germs and place change on the counter?
