I have lived in Massapequa and RVC. They are in no way, shape, or form similar. If your budget allows it, buy in RVC. If it doesn't, I'd go with Merrick.
Wantagh has a bunch of housing built on slabs. Also a ton of weird shaped, ugly houses.
Yes. North Wantagh has levit homes. However the majority of them have already been dormered and more and more will continue to do so. However the fact remains that Massapequa and Merrick are in close proximity to undesirable sections. I don’t understand how any would want to live in a great area of Massapequa but then if I cross a certain line/point, it’s no longer desirable. At the end you’re going to share public areas with those people.

And I don’t see slabs being an issue. Many houses in the United States are built on slabs. I wouldn’t mind it. Unless of course you’re looking to rent illegally which is why I would prefer to live around houses that don’t give homeowners the option to rent.
I disagree with both those posts. Neither area is dangerous and the “undiserables” are a non factor. Slabs are fine when everything is new but, basements are always a plus. Slabs on old POS development homes built in the 50’s and 60’s is foolish.
Temples are closing left and right everywhere and new developments are replacing them.
