For all the complaining, I have been working straight through it all and all I see on the way to work everyday are joggers, walkers, tennis, golf, beach goers. I'm curious to see how excited folks will be to go back to their old normal drudgery and give up the free socialist cash. Even the pickup in traffic is starting to suck again. Taking the govt cheese has been working for big corps for a decade. Maybe it's the consumer/workers turn at the feed trough.
My wife runs the neighborhood for like an hour every other morning. The other days she uses the basement setup with Jillian Michaels on screen. Much better than being in a bacteria-infested gym, and free.

I don't think it's denial to say that this virus is much, MUCH less serious than originally thought, and that not only have quarantine measures been overboard, but they almost certainly contributed to weeks of rioting that caused billions in damage and who knows how many lost lives. In addition the fear-mongering about this virus has certainly kept people from using health care services when they need to out of fear of catching COVID-19.
We need to significantly relax and reorient quarantine measures to (reasonably) protect at risk populations, but we need to acknowledge the fact that for everyone else life can and should continue pretty much as normal. The media has also been absolutely crazy and irresponsible in the way it has reported on this issue (among others) and they should be held to account.
"We need to all wear masks." No, we really don't. If you are packed into public transit--a subway, an airplane, an aircraft carrier, Dasha Nekrasova's bedroom--then sure, wear a mask, it's a reasonable precaution. But in most places in the country, it's simply not necessary. This isn't the sequel to Contagion, it's a respiratory illness that hits a small percentage of the population hard but for most people doesn't seem to be dangerous at all.
And in any case if you aren't accounting for the damage it is doing due to social and economic disruption, your math stinks and is of no use to anyone. This is largely a media scare and needs to be dealt with as such, not by playing into the paranoia but shaking people out of it.
I don't know how you can say all this when you constantly hear of 1 infected person attending a party at a house and 12+ of them get infected. Another had 40 others infected. They weren't all confined to 1 small room... you simply can't be around people under a roof if this virus is there.
The x-factor is... we don't know where the virus is, so caution, which necessitates masks, need to be taken. If you're out in the backyard, that's a different story, but you still shouldn't be on top of each other. Bottom line, it's not overblown because this thing spreads EASILY. Ignoring that to "go on with our lives" or contesting that the economy is desperate does nothing to get us out from this very real threat.
Just wait until the parade formerly called The Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade. You’ll see floats only approved by Comrade Cuomo, DeBlasio’s SS and BLM. Riding atop the big sleigh will not be the racist old white guy but a properly masked LGBTQ-HGTV supported social justice warrior of color.
You are way off topic here; this is about a public health crisis and the steps being taken to deal with it. You appear to have a lot of pent up anger about semi-political topics but also sociological and lifestyle issues. I'd suggest you put on your facemask and go take a walk in the sunshine it may do you a world of good.

The CARES Act provided federally financed enhanced coverage of $600 dollars a week until the end of July. It has not been extended. But rant on anyway because that's what you do best whether you know what you're talking about or not.
