all these buffets on long island have gone out of business. they wont be able to come back under trumps cdc guidelines.
they were are great place for people with little money to eat like kings. some had really healthy food options.
for example for about $10 you could eat samon, sushi, salad, fruits and vegetables.
thats better then $10 at mcdonalds or burger king!
Chance are, some of them will come back with servers dishing out the food. That was already being done on more and more cruise ships to decrease the spread of Noroviruses.
Publix re opened Their hot bar but you have to stand there and wait for someone to come serve you. It was looking pretty lonely the other day. Because standing around at a hot bar where other people have been standing around probably isn’t on anyone’s agenda.
Where is this pay $10 get all the healthy food you want buffet, anyway?

Right!? A $10 all you can eat buffet?! Run, don't walk away!!
Here in Sacramento there are still Indian buffets, and the occasional Chinese buffet. Most have gone under. Many more are going to get creamed by the Governor's Covid 19 shut-down and super slow re-opening, but then a lot of other restaurants are going to get creamed too.
I will have to check if Golden Corral is still open in North Highlands in North Sac. That is the only one left in the area I can think of. They may not be allowing sit down service yet.
It really defeats the purpose of a buffet to get take out. The whole point is to walk the food line and pick out what you want to try or are in the mood for, and then go back for 2nds and 3rds trying this and that. Buffet take-out, I mean what would you order? Get a box of pot roast and veggies and it is not really a "buffet" anymore. You want to go back for a taco, a small bite of lasagne, and maybe some stir fry. Just ordering a bunch of one thing defeats the purpose and if you can't see it, who wants to order a bunch of different stuff if you are just going to find it unappetizing. I need to see it to try it. Curb side doesn't work.
No wonder they aren't going to survive the Covid 19 shut down.
All you can eat buffets basically are the challenge of, how much of the lowest quality food can you shove down your gullet in a single sitting.
