Of course these 3 salaries are extreme, and cutting them back to 200K a pop would probably save each household in the district about $10-$20 each. It's something, at least.

I'd bet it would save even more than that... remember their pension is calculated off those salaries. That's a massive pension check they will be collecting for 25 years.

Teachers are not overpaid. A salary of 90 k is not a lot of money. It is the supers and admin. that make too much. There are many schools that have more than 2 asst. principals. Lots of waste. Stop blaming teachers. It is the higher ups that are stealing tax payer money, not teachers

Come on already! Didn't you pass Math 101 and Economics 101 (not Home Economics)? If there are 365 days in the year and Johnny works 184 days, yet makes an annual salary of 90K, what is Johnny's true annual salary in economic terms?

Well, professor, 184/365 equals 1/2 of a year, therefore, 90K times two equals a full years economic salary or 180K a year.

This does not factor in 2.5 months of vacation time, umpteen religious holidays, national holidays, sick days, personal days, prep time, fully paid pension, free health and dental care for the ENTIRE family, retirement after 25 years of service......

Hmmm, professor, sounds like a sweet gig!!!! No wonder so many of my friends got "interviews and offers from friends of friends and family" - It's all one BIG HAPPY FAMILY!!!!

Please tell me you're kidding and a) your statistical abilities aren't this poor b)you don't think that teachers get all of those things for free.

They most certainly are "getting it for free".
I'm waiting for just one teacher to post their pay stub on the net - blocking out salary, just to show the general public what they do pay for .

Uh, no they aren't.

Saying it again won't make it true. Also, who works 365 days a year?

it's hard not to think that posts like this aren't plants by the 'opposition' in order to make the other side seem looney/dumb/irrational

Yes, of course, if one uses their brain and is rational then one is the "opposition". Let's continue to "dumb" down the populous to eliminate any rational thinking and behaviors.

The voters of LI school budgets continue to show they know how to use their brain and how well-schooled they are in rational thinking, mathematics and philosphy

Take many Sequential Math courses or Philosophy? If this, then that.....hmmmm
