Where does Western Long Island end and Eastern Long Island start? (Brookhaven: house, live)

Well, Route 110 is really partially in Nassau so it could not be that. I would say somewhere parallel to Patchogue (i.e. 112 ) . Probably lots of people would say Riverhead, though.

I was wondering if it was past Wm Floyd and out to Riverhead now too.
Im sure theres still some Nassau bubble people (like my in laws) who still think 112 is the boonies.
For those folks who think that the western border of Long Island is the East River, they could argue that the Hamlet of Middle Island in the Town of Brookhaven -- named Middle Island because it is half-way between the East River and Montauk Point, as well as half-way between the North and South shores -- marks the west/east line.
Others would suggest that the 5 western towns -- Huntington, Babylon, Islip, Smithtown and Brookhaven -- are in the "west" and the 5 eastern towns -- Riverhead, Southold, Southampton, East Hampton and Shelter Island -- are in the "east".
And, yet, in the pre-cable TV days, others used the extent of the over-the-air TV reception to mark the west/east boundary; and, if memory serves me well, this would be somewhere in the eastern-half to the eastern-third of the Town of Brookhaven.

Thats my take too Walter but is seems like a few surprisingly voted for 110.
Maybe theyre from Queens.

The suffolk border is county line rd in Amityville and on the north shore Woodbury is the border. I should know, I live here.
