Temecula/Murietta area is full of people like that. Very white, very Christian, very Arkansas.

You don't have to go any further than Orange County to find a mother lode of fundamentalist Christian churches. Save yourself the air fare!

the funny thing is OC is pretty much the only really conservative part of the state. SD is moderate but tends to lean more democrat. SD is conservative with money but liberal everywhere else imo. Los Angeles could be a mix too.

In the last state senate elections district 15, I noticed strong Republican support in Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo counties. There are plenty of other places in CA that are also conservative.

Interesting.

Magnitude 7.2 - SOUTH ISLAND OF NEW ZEALAND

USGS: 7.2 magnitude quake hits near New Zealand – This Just In - CNN.com Blogs

New Zealand had a significantly larger one in 2009 (7.8) but it occurred in a remote, sparsely populated area of the country. Today's earthquake was centered 20 miles from Christchurch, a city of over 300,000 people.
