the city in Southwestern LA county was known for it's extensive amount of gang violence, most notably from the Bloods back in the 1980s and 90s. Is it still like this today?

It has some sketchy areas, some middle class areas, and some very nice areas. As with any city, the negatives get more media attention than the positives. I've worked in Inglewood since the 80's and have never had a problem with anyone.

As I've noticed with other cities like Inglewood; many times the reason people call them "scary" is because they have a problem with "scary brown people (no racism intended; I apologize in advance) and only judge based on the appearance of these people

Is The Forum still there or is it demolished? I still have the Three Dog Night album that has the panoramic picture of it.

I think they are going to be doing a major upgrade to the forum.

I saw Foo Fighters there last year. It's really a joke compared to Staples center and some of the other venues.

I remember the beer was expensive and they had like Bud Light or Coors. There wasn't really a "bar" so to speak. And the area you waited for drinks was super narrow.

I'm not sure how it was ever the place to be ...I think a church owned it after it's heyday perhaps they made some ****ty modifications to it...??

Regarding Inglewood being a hell hole..you'd have to drive through it and spend some time there and check it out.

Are you thinking of living /working there? Or just wondering in general?

It was very recently bought by the Madison Square Garden group or whoever the company is that owns it. I believe there are plans to redevelop the Forum's surroundings with mixed-use and TOD - I know for sure that Hollywood Park does.

To get to the point, it's mostly a black neighborhood and yes, there is more crime there than average.
