Several of those aren't even beach houses and they're in states with much less money and much cheaper real estate. I didn't say every beach house in the country is as expensive as Malibu beach real estate. Beach homes in the Hamptons are on par with Malibu, cost wise, for instance.

And the surrounding beach communities go for top dollar, across several states.

Same goes for homes in the Florida Keys.

Quite pricey. California does not have the expensive beach real estate market cornered.

Unless you are a software engineer, in every state except Mississippi you will make more money.
