I would buy a Ranch in Montana because the idea of living full time on L.A. is like almost committing suicide. Smart Angelenos with money bail out when they can to Carmel, Montana, Idaho, Hawaii, etc. Today the only people who love L.A. are people who live in a fantasy world or who are delusional or living in denial. A lot of gullible if you will entertainment folks who watched to much Miami Vice as a kid. I recall Brando saying back in the late 70s if he could sell his Mulhollhand home and leave the US easily he would be gone a nano second. Harrison Ford has stated many times if he could make films in Montana he would never step foot in California ever again.

to elaborate on where i would live in the LA Greater Metro Area I guess, Port Hueneme-Oxnard , Silver Strand Beach its a nice area and its in Ventura County also its in close proximity to my school. Because right now I'm driving from Santa Monica Mountains/Pt Magu Area ( I live above TO-Westlake Village) to Ventura every other day which is a 45 minute drive each way.

So all the Angelenos with lot's of money living in the many mansions are just dumb?

I think when people make comments like that it's usually a lot of talk and hot air.

I remember one of the Baldwin brothers saying he would leave the country if Bush became President. I don't think that ever happened. People say a lot of things, but don't always take action and do those things.
You hear a lot of people say , "It's better in Europe..or Australia...or wherever"..but yet they will still live in the U.S
You even hear people that haven't even been to Europe saying Europe is 'better' than America.

Those select few who have the means or money to live outside CA and still maintain a place inside CA, they pass more time outside than inside. Micheal Keaton scored big time in his 2nd Batman flick. Keaton could live almost anywhere and he chose Montana. Like I said, those who can, leave!
