Bob Hope Airport will be branded 'Hollywood Burbank Airport' - LA Times

Some people wanted to include Los Angeles in the name but others were against it .
I could see lots of travelers not realizing that Burbank is near LA.

what do you guys think ? Good idea ?

Lol... burbank has its own airport and is not close to lax, especially in terms of drive time. Hint: ten seconds of research can help avoid looking foolish on a topic one knows nothing about...

Also what a joke to put hollywood in the name. Honestly i had forgotten it was bob hope airport. Everyone calls it burbnk airport anyway. Oddly everyone calls sna john wayne airport. Some names stick, others don't.

It wont work. Also, while i guess they need more money, i like burbank airport the way it is: a great little secret that is much easier to deal with than lax. They need to fire their marketing team. All you need are ads comparing pics of the traffic clusterf___ at lax with pics of cars rolling happily out of burbank with "any questions?" superimposed over it. But, hey, i guess they want an lax style traffic mess and pissed off neighbors due to more flights. Airport folks gots to get PAID! Lol....

Definitely a night and day difference between the two airports. But of course it's not an international airport, so it's a LOT less busy.
It's great if you need to fly to Northern CA, Las Vegas, Phoenix, Portland though maybe a few other cities.

Just call it the Burbank Airport.

Adding a Hollywood moniker is a tacky attempt to bring geographically uneducated outsiders through their gates as it's not even in Hollywood proper...it only borders North Hollywood.
