Yeah I see it being less of an issue today, where pretty much anyone travelling will have access to the internet or Google Maps on their phone. It doesn't take too long to look it up..."Oh ok I see it's that far from X"

I know for a while they have been calling it Burbank Hollywood or something when you land.
"Welcome to Burbank Hollywood!"

I think when people land in LAX they should start calling it the Los Angeles INGLEWOOD airport!
That would actually be more accurate than Burbank Hollywood.

For the record; I live in Hollywood proper and only fly through LAX. The drive up La Ceinega or La Brea sucks but it's cheaper!

I wonder if the airport will have to pay to license the name Hollywood. I know there are some copyrights related to Hollywood, though I'm not sure if it's just the sign and walk of fame or also the name as a location as it relates to the movie industry.

It's great if you need to fly to Northern CA, Las Vegas, Phoenix, Portland though maybe a few other cities.
Anytime my company has to fly us to Northern CA or some Western state, we always fly out of Burbank. They don't want to pay for that extra traffic/overtime pay traveling to LAX lol.

It's had many names including Hollywod/ Burbank once before. (1967-1978).

The airport has been United Airport (1930–1934), Union Air Terminal (1934–1940), Lockheed Air Terminal (1940–1967), Hollywood-Burbank Airport (1967–1978), Burbank-Glendale-Pasadena Airport (1978–2003), Bob Hope Airport (2003–2016), and Hollywood Burbank Airport (2016-).[3]

I simply hate the fact that such a small airport charges Uber/Lyft passengers $3. You cannot even pick them up from the curb, you need to walk to the parking garage.

Not sure why anyone even give a damn. Call it Mickey Mouse Station, what difference does it make? Nobody flies to random airports anyway, people usually check where they land or where they are leaving from.

Some people wanted to include Los Angeles in the name but others were against it .
I could see lots of travelers not realizing that Burbank is near LA.

what do you guys think ? Good idea ?
Bad idea. I liked the BUR naming. I don't want it crowded with people who don't know where Burbank is. The easiest way flying in and out of LA.

Maybe the Inglewood moniker would help make it less crowded. While we're on that path, how about "welcome to Inglewood - Compton International Airport" ....
