I have been in or near, one or more of the listed locations. Some locations a sane person would avoid.

It's a non sequitur that LA does not resemble the third world simply because it does not resemble some notorious areas. The fact is that it does resemble a lot of Latin America.

Yeah , exactly . Mexico is a 3rd world country . Many parts of L.A look similar to parts of Mexico. It's not just one or two neighborhoods but vast parts of the city .
Just some are Pacoima , Panorama City , Good chunks of Van nuys , Boyle Heights, good chunks of North Hollywood , North Hills , i could go on ...

I know many people that live in nicer areas avoid these parts of L.A but it doesn't mean they don't exist ..

Mexico isn't really 3rd world. It is a not-that-bad developing nation, like China. 3rd world is place like Afghanistan and Zimbabwe. Frankly, I'd rather live in Mexico City than much of the USA.

You and your sister did the right thing by moving out of California. And please don't come back.

I agree with you. The grittiness adds character to our city and I love it.

I've been to every LA neighborhood you mentioned and you're way off base, to the point of sounding absolutely ridiculous.
