Hi guys, I live in Seattle and want to move to LA ever since I graduated from college last year.
(Bachelors of Science in Mechanical Engineering). I've been getting interviews but no job offer and got tired of constantly flying out for interviews so I want to just move there and work any kind of job as I interview and land the Engineering job that I am seeking in the greater Los Angeles area.

I know the cost of living is crazy with decent apartments easily hitting 1500/month. What kind of job can I look at which can help me get by just till I land the job I need? Would any minimum wage job do? I can live frugally no problem that is not an issue. Its just literally being able to survive without any stress.

I am single and own a toyota 2004 car already. Just need to cover cell phone/internet/food/electric/Rent..car insurance ill get help from family since we are all on the same plan. So I am trying to break this down to details.

Any helps would be greatly appreciated so I can start looking at jobs now. With an engineering degree what other decent positions are out there?

I'd budget closer to $ 2,000 + for a decent apartment in a safe area.

Why do you want to move to LA? LA is a great place to burn out unless you're earning 100K per year.

It is the "once a week" thread on moving to Los Angeles. At least he says he has a degree which is a positive start.

Get into online affiliate marketing... start while you're in Seattle... get some experience making money, then move to LA. When you move to LA, rent a room first.. instead of an apartment.

A lot of opportunities for mechanical engineers in the NJ and NY state area.

Actually, the cost of living is quite affordable with decent apartments readily available for $3500/month.

Yes. And they are dumps or scams.

Okay... they are all dumps or scams. Do you have any specific suggestion for getting an apartment for $1500?

OP, you're in the middle of a housing shortage, and rental crisis. Not enough to go around.

That being said, Glendale could have what you need. I lived there for a few years, the southern area around Central / Chevy Chase is livable, and close to their vibrant downtown. It's close to Atwater, Highland Park, and not far from Hollywood or DTLA.

$1500 is low rent these days
