I see this thread has turned into a pissing contest of who can post the more bad things that have happened in each city in the past 2-3 years.

More like someone with very low self esteem about where they live trying to make themselves feel better in a forum for a city where they don't even live

OP never came back. Probably didn't hear what they were hoping to hear, and the thought of going from a household income of 90k in a roomy house to half of that income to live in a smaller living space scared the living daylights out of them.

I say it all all the time, if LA metro was cheap as many would like it to be, probably a quarter of the US population would descend here inside of 10 years. I can put my own parents in that boat. As much crap as people talk about the place, many deep down would love the opportunity to avoid humidity and nasty winters.

Where are you headed doing that? Because I find your commute time to be unrealistic at best.

We can move away from a direct hit. No so much warning for earthquakes, is there?
