Oh yikes.

My kids have been on a "rainy day" schedule for days. That means no outdoor activities, so they're indoors in the AC for PE, recess and the like. They just seriously don't want these kids to drop. I'm grateful.

Before our soccer game Sunday, my son's coach sent an email letting us know that we didn't have to attend due to the heat if we preferred. We did go anyway to support the team, because I mean, what if only eight kids showed up and there was no rotation...? But we had water breaks every five minutes for the kids.

I don't know, maybe read back to find out?

It's currently applicable given the most recent set of heatwaves, so I'm sure that's why it was bumped. I know I found it on the first page.

Yeah, bumped or not, pretty relevant right now. Been brutal! But cooling off a lot next few days. Be nice if the summer was actually over. But ain't gonna happen. About the ONLY thing I don't like about LA is when the heat becomes a bit oppressive.

I think I'm the 'bumper' of this long-dormant thread. And yes, this current heat wave spurned me to resurrect this thread and harp on this hot weather. And I live only about 8 miles from the nearest coast, so it's much cooler here than in the inland areas -- but I still complain.

Probably sounds weird, but the heatwave is saving me some money on air conditioning. I generally keep my AC around 79 or 80 degrees but with the high heat lately 80 has felt pretty chilly. I've had it around 90 the last several days. I've also turned it off everywhere but the living room/dining room/kitchen(great room) and my bedroom since the power grid has been so taxed. Even with solar panels on my roof I would feel like a huge a-hole if I was blasting the AC in my entire house all day.

I'm in Glendale heat hell and so are my pooches! I love living in Glendale but I'm the sort who doesn't feel comfortable in any temperature over 80 degrees. I've been roasting to death and my electric bill is going to be insane.
