Commute to Beverly Hills is 30 minutes to an hour and commute to OC is 2-3 hours. Subway, their website, allows you to look up all of their locations. Working there you should know that.

Also, people were being short and sarcastic because you decided to go to a college and it appears you have done no research on your own about the area it is in, what LA is like, etc. That doesn't bode well for your college career.

Hey Dyhispno. Sorry for the Moderator cut: unhelpful answers.

Burbank is a fine area but I will say for a young person it might seem a little boring. Some areas relatively close to Burbank that might be more interesting you might consider: Studio City, Sherman Oaks or Pasadena.

Having said that, Burbank is not that far these places and pretty easy to go out at night to Hollywood from Burbank.

Best of luck to you.

OC is not tooootally un-doable if you want to spend a day or two with your friends.. take the train, stops in glendale goes to Anaheim, fullerton, laguna, irvine etc etc. i used to take it from downtown to san diego on the weekends to visit my boyfriend and its not bad at all. should be around $9 and you can do homework while you ride.

I wouldn't delete the idea of visiting friends in OC if they are already your friends. You must go down and see them at least once.

Unfortunately, if you are like the rest of us, you probably won't see them that often after that. You'll also find that, if you live in Burbank, you don't want romantic interests in OC because you are "geographically incompatible." It's almost impossible to date because it's really a long drive, even though it doesn't look like it on a map.

That particular area where Woodbury is located is quite nice. It's very close to the 5 freeway and sits right at the foot of the hills, which is very scenic if you like to walk or bike around.

Close to shopping, Hollywood, and anything else you could ask for. Enjoy your stay!

Burbank is excellent, nothing to worry about. I wouldn't call it upscale but it's about as nice as L.A. gets.

We live very close to Woodbury, dang near throw a rock at it. Burbank has changed a lot over the years but it is still relatively a nice area to live. You'll pay a little more to live in Burbank. WB is on the Glenoaks Blvd busline so it's easy to get to.

WOA, stay out of Sun Valley, NoHo, Van Nuys, Chatsworth.

Just curious - is it safe to drive through Van Nuys/Panorama City/Sepulveda these days? I grew up in that area (the 60's) and I've heard it is now quite gang infested.

I'll be in Burbank later in the week and I wanted to drive my son around and show him where I lived and went to school (Sepulveda Jr. High and James Monroe High) but I don't want to be driving around areas that can be dangerous.

It's safe to stop and eat at a whole in the wall Mexican restaurant at midnight.
