Thank you so much, again, for all of these. Despite being just down the road (in L.A. driving terms) in San Diego, I haven't been back to L.A. since 2007. It's nice to see areas other than downtown, too.

I'm still amazed at how downtown L.A. has changed and could be repeating myself, but I have to. The change is stunning. I know it's been 21-22 years sice I was last there -- change is inevitable -- but I still have in my mind the downtown that was so dangerous that walking two blocks from a parking garage to a theater (one near Pershing Square, I think, to one of the older-style theaters) in the middle of the day was incredibly foolish. There was an animation festival at one of the theaters, hosted by Leonard Maltin, and I just remember being overwhelmed by this wave of "Everyone here is out to get you!!!! Run!!!!!" This after being born and raised in Los Angeles -- I had never felt that at risk before. And now downtown is this busy, thriving section of town with stores, apartments, and condos. Fantastic.

If you don't mind, a couple of questions:

1) Where are the pictures before and after the Westin Bonaventure taken?

2) Where were the beach pictures taken?

3) What kind of camera do you use?

We are visiting L.A. this summer and your pictures give us so many great ideas for places to visit.

Again, Thanks!
Thanks quixotic59! Sorry for responding so late. For some reason I can't see the first half of my pics soI have no idea what's before and after the Westin. The beach pics were taken in Malibu. Right now I'm temporarily using a Nikon coolpix camera. Thanks again.

No problem! Your camera takes excellent pics.
BTW, I figured out one pic was a park right next to the Westin.
