Im not a Los Angeles native BUT!!! I think Los Angeles and New York City are the BEST CITIES IN THE U.S!! YOU HAVE TO LOVE BOTH CITIES NO MATTER WHAT, GOOD OR BAD. =] BOTH ARE MAJOR CITIES IN THE WORLD. AND ARE IMPORTANT IN BUSINESS, FASHION, NIGHTLIFE, ENTERTAINMENT, ETC ETC.

Once again - not all movies or television shows are filmed in Los Angeles or even in California.

More and more we are seeing Movie and TV production happening in other locales.

469 square miles, millions of people, more to do and see than many states, every kind of food on earth, people from all over the earth and you were not able to find a clean part of town, one thing you like, or something good to eat? That is amazing.

Default Dude?

I suspect, from your post, that your a New Yorker. Hence, LA. people are ding bats. New Yorkers are smart, cultured and quick. For the record, never has a New Yorker called me, Dude. However,it happens quite often while conversing with an LA. person. In fact, I usually stop the person and let them know that I graduated college with a degree in English, and that calling me dude feels offensive. Note, I am a fourty year old women; not a teenager.

uote=justcause;12095767]Yes, but is there anything to LA besides the weather and beach? Do we have culture, sophistication, vibrancy, a place on the world stage as a global city on par with NYC?

It's not that I personally find anything wrong with what you mentioned, btw.[/quote]

what exactly are you comparing when talking about LA and NYC? what factors are being discussesd? what would equal mean?

the question is very vague.
furthermore, i think most people consider NY as only being manhattan (completely disregarding the other burroughs) thats just ignorant.

its hard to compare the two cities.
i rarely think about NY, other than when i think of friends out there.

there is no reason to compare the two cities. they are both alpha cities. both centers of somthing, fashion, entertainment, money, plastic, whatever. they both have great and NOT SO great qualities.

A graduate with a degree in English, I presume, and you compose a post like that? Are you sure you just don't mean the diploma was written in English?

But, I digress. No, I am not a New Yorker, as I mentioned in post #5.
