Are there any towns in Maine that mirror or are similar to Stephen King's Syfy show "Haven", or to his tv miniseries, "Storm of the Century"?

Never seen either show. You can be fairly certain that if it's in the movies or on TV it's contrived and far removed from reality. Murder She Wrote was supposedly a Maine based story but was filmed in California.

I've never watched those shows, but King grew up in Bangor. I know he's attributed two Bangor locations to those in his books. One the power generation plant on the Penobscot River, the second a dry cleaner where he worked as a teenager (now closed) on Fern Street. I wouldn't be surprised if most of his books are somehow connected to the area.

He used the Pownal/Durham area in some of his writings as well. I'm not sure how he knew the area...relatives perhaps.

Parts of Storm of the Century were filmed in Southwest Harbor on MDI.
