Beans in Bangor has great red hot dogs. They have been around since 1860. We used to pick them up by the pound. W.A. Bean & Sons Meats

Rice? Never Rice as it contains sorbitol. I much prefer Jordan's.

Just got back from our annual vacation in Maine and yes, "Gotta love Maine"!!! I am now on the search for Red Snappers in Florida..don't think I will find them, nor will I find the top split frankfurt rolls. Alas, there is the internet...if you don't mind paying the price for shipping!

i prefer all beef in the CASING dogs
mostly sabrett, nathans, and boars head
can't stand ballpark or oscar meyer
although ballpark recently put out an all angus dog that was edible, especially with some horseradish mustard

I had my very first "red snapper" hot dog this summer during the Machias Wild Blueberry Fest. For a $1.25, it was worth satisfying my curiosity.

To me they seem more of a hot pink color, than red. The taste? Interesting. Did think they were very juicy though and good with mustard, relish, and onions.
