I have to be near the ocean so AZ would not be for me. I love the beauty we have here - mountains, lakes and ocean etc.

I was born and raised in MA but am now and forever will be a Mainer. Florida is nice for a week or 2 in the winter but I sure wouldn't want to live there. I just couldn't stand the heat.
Born and raised in MA, but have lived in AZ for the past 14 years. It's a night and day difference in every way! I really miss being near water even though we have lakes in the state, but there is nothing like the ocean which is why we take the six-hour drive to California as often as we can. Arizona has a diverse climate and when it's 110 where I live I can drive two hours and be in 80 degree weather. AZ lacks the history of MA and is just celebrating its centennial this year. MA is a wonderful place, but the winters are what eventually chased me away. I grew tired of shoveling my car out of the snow, having to thaw my hands and feet out after coming indoors. AZ is great, but I do miss aspects of MA.
