I'm actually out of town for the weekend (elsewhere in the northeast and it's over 80F), but today's Boston area weather is a perfect example of why I don't like our springtime weather! Far too many days in the 50s-low 60s. May 29th and 57F and cloudy near my house right now. Yuck!

Just for fun, I've been keeping tabs on the weather in Fairbanks, AK this spring. Yup, often better there in the spring! They should see 70F today. Boston won't.

Yesterday it was 93 degrees in Bedford/Lexington. I tend to like the cooler temps of Spring, because summer in the Boston area comes all at once. It just sits on you one day and then it's hazy, hot, humid for 3+ months. I find summers from Boston all the way down the eastern seacoast to be miserable. Mostly swampy, hot, humid and lots of thunderstorms. I love spring and fall in New England though.

It was in the 90's yesterday. Horrible.

Agreed, that stunk. Today was perfect hiking weather.

Yesterday was perfect where I live but today is pretty horrible and cold. It was in the 70s here yesterday by the ocean. Not a good beach day at all today! Spring is fine with me, it's just the summer and the winter that I despise.

It was in the high 80's in the Pioneer Valley today. Tomorrow is going to be in the 80's and raining.

No doubt! The far inland Mass. spring weather is often better than near the coast. Today was a perfect example of this.

Yeh, but wait until summer! Those sweltering WMass summers with the ever building humidity broken only by a severe electrical storm. Cool for one day if you're lucky and then it starts up again. Out here the summers are better--and you can even get to an ocean beach to cool off. Their winters are colder too and it's a bitter cold. My sister and I even speak of "western Mass cold" as opposed to regular cold.

But spring is nicer back there and maybe fall is too. You know, this whole state is so confusing.

Spring in Massachusetts doesn't amount to much, just a few days between too cold and too hot. If we're lucky, fall can last a couple of months, though.

I like cooler weather. High 80s I can do without. I grew up in real heat and humidity, Eastern Massachusetts is a welcome change for me.

Fairbanks isn't really a good comparison. It's way too far inland, with a mountain range separating it from the ocean. It can legitimately hot in the summer, especially considering the near total daylight.
