A career opportunity was recently presented to me in Brockton. *I would like to take it, but, it lets out at 11pm. *Although a car is available to me, I prefer to take public transportation. *It seems that everything shuts down in Brockton at 9pm. *Is there any was to get out of this city (and back home to Quincy) at 11pm?

The only hope seems to be coming from Lyft Line where it looks like they have a service in Brockton. *

Brockton shuts down at 9 because it is a sleepy, yet dangerous city. The BAT bus' absolute latest route out is at 1045 pm. I dont even feel comfortable on the bat bus that late anyway, full of druggies, alchys, beggars and ratchets. Plus the buses are terribly lit, and its just overall sketchy.

Lyft line/Uber pool every day could get expensive quickly.

If you can somehow get to the Montello Commuter Rail Station in Brockton, the MBTA #230 bus leaves from there to get back to Quincy Center. During weekdays, it runs every hour at night with one leaving Montello at 10:42PM and the last one leaving at 11:42PM. Be forewarned Brockton is not a particularly safe city at night.

I know how one feels about driving as I am a transit fanatic myself. Brockton however is a far out exurb of Boston with much less adequate public transportation and at times it is more convenient to have a car. The good thing is, roadways in Brockton are much easier to drive on than Downtown Boston's.

You HAVE to drive. Seriously. And even then the thought of driving through Brockton that late every night would give me second thoughts.
