There's a ton of deferred maintenance coupled with retirements and a good economy. Heck 10% of elevators are out of compliance for to a lack of inspectors.

Not sure the exact amount, but I'm fairly certain he's making comfortably into the 6 figures right now, and most of that is due to overtime and side jobs. I don't think $60k is too far off base assuming the hourly rate is paid 40 hours per week, 52 weeks per year. But the flip side is that when the building boom slows, he could potentially be out of work for 6 months straight and only get sporadic employment in between. So it's definitely a feast/famine industry and right now they're feasting. It's also brutal on the body which means longevity is rare in the field.

It's difficult out there. I found an all-around-handyman that was skilled & had a decent price-point. Like you....it took me several months.

What is it about granite countertops and SS appliances that flippers love so much? Like it's a telltale sign it's a flip. And the thing about flips is that 99% of the time they are asking way, way above market. It should be a warning sign to stay away.

It's what we call lipstick on a pig, a standard MO for flippers.

Yes many have come to rely on them more and more for small jobs. Not always a bad thing.

Plus those fake stone wall things on the front of the house, what's the point? I heard granite is out and quartz is in.
