Another one of your posts that makes no sense and shows ignorance. I don't even understand where you are headed or what you are trying to express.

You haven't seen what cops did to "occupy"? And those were peaceful demonstrations.

In Chicago and else where there have been these flash mob organized on twitter for robbing stores and just causing mayhem, some folks got seriously hurt. Are any of you worried a little bit? Do you think that there will be any riots at all?
No. Because of social media and twitter explosions of death threats, what makes you think police aren't armed and even more prepared?

I am sure that they are on high alert, but this a very racial political matter. It brings back the racial tensions in the 80's with the marieal Cubans and the Black Community.

I feel really sad for the parents today, it was a hard day for both of them. Today's comments from the medical examiner and the emotional testimony of the family will fuel anger. Regardless of who did what, to think that this kid slowly died out from one to ten mins is heart wrenching. I have been watching the whole trial via streaming and still have some doubts but the defense team seems to have the upper hand on reasonable doubt.

There is not doubt in my mind that if Zimmerman is found not guilty there will be riots in the streets from the African American community. i don't think it will be as bad as the Rodney King riots but who knows.

the court system knows how to dodge riots, the more emotional the reaction to the crime the longer the trial.
a day will come and soon that the government will no longer fear riots. those fema detention centers that they say dont exist are there for a purpose.

It makes me feel very happy that there is such a sense of community where I live. It would sadden me if there are riots in our area.

I think most of the folks that live in cutler bay would not resort to that, but young folks with out guidance might.
This was a long time ago, but the last time I remember there were race riots in Miami, it was after Miami Dade police officers were acquitted of charges in the beating death of Arthur McDuffie in 1980. At this time the rioting took place in Liberty City and Overtown, we lived in south Dade County at the time, and I don't believe the rioting spread beyond those areas, although there were threats about it.

The sad thing about those riots was that it was black businesses and properties that were destroyed- their own people were the victims.

Here's an article that puts much of those days in perspective:

Of course the riots did not spread. the Cubans around them were armed and ready if the looters left their ghetto.

Was speaking to a father of my friend and he told me about that. That the Cuban community all got together and blocked major streets armed with shotguns. Seems like a logical move given the Police were not able to protect tp much of the city.

I don't expect riots. I think it's more likely than not that there aren't any but I know the Police Depts are ready and it would not shock me if there were any. I sure hope there are none.
