Well I made reservations today for the 4th of July weekend in TC. We wanted to stay on the bay this year and be able to walk to and from our room to the Cherry Festival....... well I could not find a room anywhere within walking distance of downtown that was worth the price they were looking to charge. Most places I called were booked solid. I'm not about to pay $200+ for a lower rated hotel room. SO! We figured if we're going to have to pay $230 for a room we might as well stay at the Great Wolf Lodge so we have the water park.

Here it is only March and I am looking forward to this weekend already. I'd be willing to bet TC is going to be jam packed this year, add the fact the Blue Angels will be back and this is going to be one great Cherry Festival week for the city. Anyone else going up?

Oh man is it ever gonna be crazy! We screwed up and will be in Tawas that weekend. We booked a camping spot at Tawas point before we seen the Blue Angels are gonna be at the Cherry Festival. I wont miss all that traffic though!

What I've learned over the years is if you get in early and plan to stay for the day the traffic is not all that bad. You have to be willing to miss the last 5 minutes of the show if your leaving and want to miss traffic. Hell we parked right across from the beach with the best view the last time the blue angels were there. Easy in easy out.

I will also be on vacation Peter B, and I can't wait to deal with all the people and traffic. I plan to rent a long telephoto and plan to shoot as much of the event as I can. Still trying to sell the old lady on moving there when she is done with school.

I usually go see the airshow but that's it. That's enough people for me for the year. It's easy to get in and out and find a place to park on a motorcycle.
