Are there any radio stations, AM or FM, in the Minneapolis-St. Paul area that feature the classic oldies, those from the 50's - 70's. I'm finding mostly rock or country western.

I agree-it is 107.9 on your dial

102.9 also has some but they are more 80's and 90's now.

Another option is to listen to the actual shows from the '60s and '70s. They have a decent collection of archived shows on ReelRadio. Many shows don't include full songs, but the DJ's, the ads and the news make it pretty cool to listen to every now and then.

Love 105 which is at 105.7 FM atop the IDS Center in Downtown Minneapolis; 105.1 FM in Rosemont at South Robert Trail(MN Highway 3) and 170th Street and 105.3 FM in Cambridge playes more 1950's and 60's top 40. Their playlist now does extend to 1989. Try all three signals to see which one sounds best where you live or work.

KQQL-FM 107.9 in Anoka (KOOL 108) is almost exclusively 70's and 80's.

WLTE-FM 102.9 in Minneapolis is now changing to a more Hot Adult Contemporary format with newer artists focusinng on some 80's music as well as 90's and today; in fact sounding a lot like KSTP-FM 94.5 (KS95) in St. Paul.

On the AM dial, Scott Shannon's "True Oldies Channel" can be found on WDGY 740 AM out of Hudson, WI. with their studio's on St. Croix Trail south of I-94 in Afton - Lakeland, . The only problem is this is a daytime only station however their signal is good throughout the Twin Cities. Their specialty is 1950's and 60's with some 70's thrown in from time to time.

Also on the AM dial KLBB Radio at 1220 AM, out of Stillwater plays a lot of Classic Oldies. Great daytime signal throughout the Twin Cities however at night they need to reduce their signal strength, like most AM stations, limiting overnight signal coverage to just the Eastern Twin Cities and portions of St. Croix and Pierce Counties of Western Wisconsin.

I laughed at this. I was back in town recently, and flipped the dial to KQ. The playlist hasn't changed in the 20 years I've been gone. Yeah Zep, Stones, Skynyrd and some GNR for the kids.

Thats why I have satellite or Pandora.

There was an FM station in the late 70's in Anoka it seems that had wonderful music to easily listen to. Anyone remember that one?
