Born and raised in MN. Went to college in NC and graduated in May. Moving to TX next month for work. I have every intention of moving back here first available chance I get.

I fricken love this state!

I loved NC for the four years I was there, and I am sure I will enjoy TX for however long I am there, but MN is where I want to be in the long run.

I moved here from So California. I love it here. Would NEVER move back to California. I can't say I'll live here the rest of my life, but I just bought my second home here and have NO plans to leave anytime in the near future. If you can handle the long winter (I have no problem with winter surprisingly!) it's a great place to live.

When I moved here it was for a job change and I intended to stay no more than five years. It's now over 30 years here and I don't believe I will ever leave. I love MN!

Well, I'll be at the UofM for the next four years studying. During that time, I hope to visit North and South Dakota as well as Wisconsin. If I a) like any of those areas more than MN and b) find good employment in those places after graduating, I'll probably leave. If not, I plan to stay in Minnesota for the long term.

We are sorta staying here for awhile. My husband took an education job in Alaska, but we will be keeping the cabin to come back to during the summer. I love northern Minnesota, but I won't miss living near the cities. It isn't the Twin Cities that are the problem, I just don't want to live in any city/suburban area anymore.

Where are you originally from and why did you move to MN? How long have you been here?

I grew up in the Northeast and have lived in Texas and Michigan also. I've been here a few years, love it, and will most likely never leave MN. From a climate change perspective, this is a good place to be. Much of the country is likely to have unbearable summers and severe water shortages within my lifetime. Current modeling shows the Upper Midwest faring pretty well.
