In general I love the Twin Cities but navigating the roadways certainly would not endear one to this place.
The traffic lights are better in St. Paul, simply because St. Paul doesn't have that many like Minneapolis does. Hopkins has pretty good timing too expect during Rush Hours.

As for drivers, people have said Twin Cities drivers are the worst in the country since I first got my license back in the 1970's. Very few people around here know what a gas pedal is or how to SPEED! However, I feel it my personal crusade to set the prime example on how to navigate the roadways when I'm behind the wheel.

The fact that Minneapolitans or many Minnesotans in general see themselves as "socially liberal" or truly progressive makes me laugh. I guess the city or state is if you compare it to the bible belt or the south but when compared to truly progressive places like Seattle in my home state of Washington or Portland, Oregon it's a joke. The day Minnesota legalizes marijuana, or Minneapolis as a city even does or the state passes a Death with Dignity or Right to Die law or takes the lead on issues like gay marriage, labeling GM foods etc or really any socially liberal issue of importance to most young people, will be the day I concede it has taken its place among the truly progressive places. However I am not holding my breath and until then Minnesota has earned its reputation on the Best Coast as being the "Mississippi of the Midwest" and its biggest city Minneapolis represents the state as the epicenter whether people like it or not. In closing, congrats Minnesota, on your finally (sort of) legalizing "medical" marijuana. Welcome to the 1990's!

Ultra-conservatives, both of 'em! And don't forget Ellison.

Mississippi of the Midwest -- that's a good one!

But I made no derogatory statement against white people as a race. I simply stated that I know of crappy people from the east side who happen to be white. I never said it was their whiteness that made them crappy. Also my race and where I live are definitely relevant as it proves I am not some outsider making a blanket statement based off of hearsay.
