In your opinion- what is or who serves the best pizza in the Twin Cities (7 County Metro)?

I'm a fan of Punch. I know they might not be "mom and pop" enough for a lot of people, but they make a damn fine pie.

Punch is insanely overrated. I've been there 5 times now. The middle is soooooooooo soggy. Like you can't hold it in one hand. And the sheer amount of olive oil makes it, like wet.

I love brick oven thin crust but Punch needs to either a) put less oil on or b) fire down the ovens a bit to get the middle cooked longer.

Punch is my local favorite, Black Sheep in St. Paul is my number two. Cosetta in St. Paul, too.

That's the way the pizzas are at Da Michele Pizzeria in Naples, widely considered to be the best pizza in the world, and I think Punch is aiming for authenticity. http://damichele.net I like it but appreciate that it's not to your liking. Black Sheep is also very good.

Norm's Wayside out in Buffalo serves an excellent Detroit style pizza that is really good. http://www.normswayside.com/menu.pdf

Have all 5 times been at the same location? Maybe you're just getting unlucky.

I'd put Punch right up there with Pizzeria Bianco in Phoenix, routinely rated as the top brick-oven pizzeria in the country. For a high-volume place, they nail it, IMHO.

I've had Neapolitan pizza. In Italy. You can't wring it out.

Punch is my #1, followed closely by Black Sheep. Pizza Luce is where I order delivery if I want a more "typical" American pie loaded with toppings.

Have been wanting to try Galactic Pizza in Minneapolis, haven't done so yet.

But my favorites are probably Chanticlear Pizza & Pizza Man. Also occasionally order Marcos, Sarpinos and Jets. Also order a fair amount of Pizza Hut, Dominos, and Papa Johns (I know what you're all thinking haha but they're cheaper and closer to my apartment) I get pizza from everywhere haha (I Live in New Hope so I am not willing to drive all the way to downtown Minneapolis to get a pie whenever I want one haha and am limited to whatever New Hope/Crystal offer)

Also had Scoreboard Pizza once in Brooklyn Center, it's in a dingy strip mall in a rundown area of Brooklyn Center but it gets rave reviews online. Was really, really good!

Little Ceasers is the worst, but if I am not paying I will eat it.
