Why are all of your posts in threads about bad areas?

Unless your into drive-by's,drug wars and other misc.gang activities, North minneapolis is not for you. Are you looking for inexpensive housing?or just looking to move closer to the city?
The last time I checked, about 6 months ago,the crime rate was 404.the national average is 100 and I just read a report that crime has risen 35% over last year.

In the Star Tribune they recently were begining to call it "Murderapolis"! I think North Minneapolis is the most crime infested part of the city-and the state too. I hear North Minneapolis is where most of the drugs are going around. It's definately not a good place to be in! I'm sure there's still innocent, non-violent, respectable people living there, but I think it's mostly gangs living there at the moment. I have a friend (but I haven't seen him for a couple years), who used to live in Brooklyn Center, and went to school in North Minneapolis. I don't know the story, but he's on house arrest now. I guess most people from that area are pretty "hardcore". Not a good place.

For Minnesota it's bad but I can think of a few other places in the state that have a higher crime rate per capita.

You heard correctly. Minneapolis' crime has really spiked in the last few years, and, honestly, I feel safer here in my new home (Chicago) than I did in my last few months in Minneapolis. I lived on the south side, which includes some very nice areas (Linden Hills), some OK ones (Powderhorn, where I was), and some very bad ones (Phillips).
AVOID NORTH MINNEAPOLIS, PERIOD.

If you're really interested in an area, the most accurate way to find out the crime stats is to ask the local police.
