How would a Minnesotan perceive a person who says: "I can't stand the winters". "I dislike the winters and the cold. Who would ever live in Minnesota?"

I think most people would say to each their own. They might also wonder why anyone would post something like this, since most Minnesotans could not imagine going to the, say, Arizone forum and posting, "I can't stand the heat." After all, what exactly would be the point?

Winters are cold. Some like the cold, some don't. I might question whether they've actually experienced a winter in MN or whether they're just making assumptions based on books and movies, but if they really don't like it, then I guess it's their loss.

I would rather deal with -20F up there than continue to deal with the long summers down in Georgia, even though they aren't that hot, but financially I don't have much choice in the matter.

I would say that Seattle's climate is way better than Minneapolis's. What do you think of the marine Northwest coast climate?

I enjoy seeing the sun, so I like Minnesota's better, and to answer the original question: they wouldn't care... at all.

Personally I think they are whiners.

Realistically though, I would say over half the people in the state don't like winter, cold, ice and snow.

I would say something complimentary to them such as... "gee, that sure is a nice looking dress you have on"

They're going to need to bundle up this year.

Climate change will be good for a laugh this year.
We wont have a balmy winter like last year.
I predict a below Avg temps for this winter and we will be just under our Avg for snow too.

If they b1t@h about the cold then maybe they should dress properly for the conditions.

I've never lived in that area, but one of my brothers has, and it sounds like the area is VERY humid for part of the year. I'm not sure I would like that, but it's hard to say. Since it isn't an option, it's a moot question.
