Imagine how much more could have been accomplished toward the prevention of animal cruelty had these same groups just created a fund for the enforcement of the previously existing law. Again, motives are to be questioned.

Prop. B, as I read it, does not go into effect until November 2011. This would allow time for perfecting language and alterations, by the state legislature if they are so inclined/pressured.

This is the time for all those who have recommnendations for improving the legislation to get in touch with their state representatives and senators.

It will come into affect in November, but is open to change in Legislation in January.

I read that it'll be $500,000 a year to pay employees to inspect etc...

Really thought we could use eve $200,000 towards schools... teachers are yelling at us for asking for tissues-- and giving us bonus points for bringing tissues, clorox wipes, germ-x... simple stuff....

We're hiring people to check out dogs being treated and fed badly...
Check high schools! We're on freaking half rations... 5 people asked for 2nds, and they nearly had a cow "Did you inhale that!?"

Oh, sorry, my 4in by 1in piece of lasagna and bread stick didnt fill me up...

True, but the individual can opt out of paying it simply by not owning dogs.

So pack a lunch for him. Or is this a case of taking advantage of a government service simply because it is being offered?

When I was a kid there was no lunch program or room. We brought our brown bag with our peanut butter sandwiches and apples from home and ate them at our desks. The most we could expect was a daily carton of milk and a "goiter pill" once a month.

Better yet, they can chose to live in a state that doesn't impose taxes and fees on every choice they make. Then if they felt the need to spend $1,000 on some stray dog's vet bill, why they could donate to that too.

Missouri has never been the low tax, low service state that some of our neighbors have been. We may like to spend our money carefully, but we've never been anti-government. This idea that only you know the real Missouri and you're trying to protect it from all these outsiders is ludicrous.

Not sure where you dreamed that up. I do think it's hypocritical to move from a state where the taxes are sooooo high you can't afford to live there and then promote the idea of more taxes here. It doesn't take a genius to figure out that slippery slope.

Well I was born and raised here. So you can make that argument for Nu2Pomona all you like, but be careful not to apply that to me.
