That is your individual choice. Missouri has no towns like Salem, Massachusetts.
There is a Salem, Missouri however

hehe I'm impressed. Let me rephrase that...there are no rural towns in Missouri which are strongly religious and demand you be one of them or be cast out.

While we are on the topic of religion I found this interesting article:

I grew up in rural southeast missouri and didn't go to church and was not uncomfortable. A lot of people I knew didn't go to church.

I'm amazed by the question and assume it was sincere.

My family immigrated to the US in the mid 80s and the first place we lived was Rolla, MO. I remember going to church a few times mostly on invitation from neighbors but we never made it a regular thing and it didn't seem to bother others. And I guess today, it's probably even less big of a deal today if you don't go to church in rural Missouri.

A one church rural town might be harder than one with multiple churches and denominations. Even then you might not belong to the “right” denomination in some people’s opinion. My family belonged to a rather traditional and conservative church denomination but the community was mostly Roman Catholic, which actually is more liberal than my church (if you can believe that). The topic only rarely came up but when it did it was like we were from Jupiter or someplace — lots of questions and curiosity and some judgmental comments. It was just assumed that you belong to the local mainstream church.

"The God who made the world and everything in it, being Lord of heaven and earth, does not live in temples made by man" - Acts 17:24.

Church is very important here. our only problem is we only go once a week but that has always been a problem with any Church.

And you can't go out worshiping Gods Creations and calling it going to Church. Jesus even seen this.
