Well it must have gone WAY down then because in July and August of 2006 we went house shopping and it was outrageous in our opinions. Like not being able to find anything but a run down fixer upper for under $250K and that was for a small dinky place. Granted I know you can't get house prices most places like you can here in Nebraska.. ours is 1400 square feet not counting our sunroom, 4 bedrooms, 1 3/4 bathrooms, large backyard and was only $100K, but still for $250K I would hope to get a decent house.

Granted, the house for $100k ship has pretty much sailed but in the current market there's actually quite a bit under $250k that are not fixers and that doesn't count foreclosures. Try looking outside Kalispell to a distance of 15 miles or so and you might find something that'll work...
