Montana is realy a geat place, and your husband will definately fit in. I happen to know for a fact that somont is hiring on thier oil rigs and his cdl is handy all over the state for hauling grain. As far as recreation goes your set anywere for hunting and fishing. Im a Bozemanite so im pretty partial to southwestern MT, because theres like 5 ski hills within a couple hours drive. Id suggest southwestern montana around Bozeman, Butte, or Missoula for a better culture a younger more exciting age group, and to get away from the dust-bowl type small farming towns that are somewhat difficult to make a living in and settle into if you werent born there

It's a tough place to make a living, if you don't have two or three jobs. Unlike liberal leaning Wyoming, Montanan's don't take kr*p from anyone.
The winters are rough for some, easier for others. Not windy like Wyoming at all - at least not sustained.

Unless you're north of Great Falls or south of Livingston, where the wind blows so much that people walk with a habitual list to port.

Clean air, gorgeous views, small friendly towns, just a better way of life.

What is it like to live in Montana

that question is as vague as asking what it is like to live in the US.

Eastern Montana bears little resemblance to western Montana.

My wife's father used to say "Life's great if ya don't weaken ! To be healthy and happy in Montana you have to be tough and creative unless you come with tons of money. I've seen quite a few folks who moved here only to struggle for a year or two and then back home they went. Some people move here and just can't seem to find work except for the worst low paying jobs, they end up not being able to make it here but end up being stuck without being able to save enough to go somewhere else.

I wish more Kali's would go home. They're blocking my view of the mountains.
