Wow this thread has changed. Only good mornings and good nights, the last few days.. I hope everyone is doing well. My family and I are so looking forward to our up and coming trip to NE. It will be nice to get some relief from the heat we are having out here!!! God, I cant wait for it to cool off here. The 90s' and 100s' are getting really old

Yeah sure go ahead and rub it in Wanna. Meanwhile I am sweating here and have the airconditioner blasting. Taking Bo out for a walk was crappy!!! I hate sweating.

I am still waiting....

Hey y'all! We finally made it back home yesterday afternoon and <sigh> finally got electricity back around 3. I got to do some inspecting and we really have practically no damage. I can't believe it! Just a couple of shingles gone, a missing front gate, lots of puddles, and lots of branches and twigs in the yard. We are so blessed! We dodged another bullet, so to speak. And now it looks like we are going to miss Ike - or Ike is going to miss us - so maybe this was my LAST Louisiana hurricane.... could it be????? That would be so great! Well, I got both of my fridges and one of my freezers emptied out (YUCK!!) and cleaned all up (one freezer just holds ice and bags of boiled peanuts, but it's a chest type freezer and I can't get it to the edge of the garage to drain it until I get the rest of our stuff out of the garage) and got us unloaded and partially unpacked, went to the store and partially refilled the ice boxes, but was afraid to buy too much until Ike passes us by. I'll hold out for that rather than lose so much food again! I feel like I've been gone for weeks. What has been going on in my absence? And where is everybody? I am looking forward to getting back to normal around home and here, but notice that many friends are missing......

Hi LACarole,

glad you're back safe and sound! I imagine it must be very scary to have to leave and not know what you're coming back to. Glad to hear everything is ok.

Good Morning, everyone!

thanks, sometimes google does well. It reminds me of a fried egg! speaking of which...

where IS Comet???? !!! That's an awfully long anniversary celebration. We're going to want details if he's spending this much time.
