Stay out of Belmar and Point Pleasant, loitered with people my age (which I find annoying because they're full of a lot of tools) Asbury Park is getting better year by year and is a lot more diversified in the crowds that it attracts.

Another one I heard is decent is Norwood Inn, in Avon-by-the-Sea.

You should head down to the South Jersey shore towns - pretty much everything south of LBI (except in your case you might want to skip Wildwood). The towns down here are very nice and polished.

I've actually never been north of LBI, but just based on what I read on C-D, the South Jersey shore towns seem a lot nicer than the ones further north. I could be wrong of course, you don't exactly ever find truth on this website.

Hey, are you that guy I was talking to in the bar in Atlantic City a few years ago who told me that he had been to north Jersey and when I asked where, he replied, "Forked River"? LOL. Never forgot that one.

Haha I realize that most of the towns north of LBI are definitely Central and possibly South Jersey, but the shore kind of has its own dynamics in my opinion, based on the people who live or visit there.

LMAO - you have that guy who thinks Forked River is North Jersey, then you have the poster the other day who thinks Hudson County is NOT North Jersey ("First time I've ever heard Hudson County called North Jersey")! No wonder we have an identity crisis!

I'm not sure what that means...? Wharfside is where current high school friends (who are on Facebook) hang out? Or people who have been friends SINCE high school (and are now older) hang out there?

Sorry, your verbiage is terribly confusing and I'm not sure if you are agreeing with my advice or disagreeing.
