Why do my Indian neighbors stare at me all time? (moving, area)

Ive gotten that too, when in an area where black folks are rare. Some people just do that when someone looks or behaves different. I think some maybe dont think they are behaving rudely, according to their culture and custom. Or maybe some dont care if it's ill-mannered, and just dont like seeing you in 'their space'.
I live in Iselin and my next door neighbors come outside their house every time I pull into my drive way or hang outside in the front of the house, or go take garbage outside... you get the idea. The thing is that they look at me and continue staring at me, even after I say 'hi', they do not have intentions of starting a conversation or whatsoever, they just stare at me and my husband nonstop. In some cultures this could be considered rude, but I am not sure if it's something that Indian people do or is part of their culture. I am not trying to be judgemental, I am just trying to understand their culture. I am already accostumed to their "staring" habits, but sometimes it can make me uncomfortable...
I wonder why this thread has just gone down the toilet....
The thing is we are ALL immigrants here, no matter if it is 1st generation, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th ..... Somewhere along the way in the history of EACH of our Families someone came here from another country (unless we are 100% Native American) along with the dream of everything a new world stands for.
Uhh, no. The majority of my ancestors had no say in the matter.

Only currently are Mexicans, Asians, Indians being brought out. In the past it was Italians, Irish, Germans. If we are here legally then we are ALL AMERICANS and there is nothing wrong in preserving our own heritage that is what America is all about. There should be no definition of who is doing what job and why or how, also saying that jobs are being taken away from us is wrong because that is what is great, ANYONE has the Opportunity to be what they want, and achieve ANYTHING.
Nothing at all wrong with what you said, though I will quibble and say that I don't think jobs should be reserved for immigrants from India or anywhere else - and I have witnessed this - if Americans can do them.
And I just don't think people should come to this country and bring racism with them. There's already enough of it here.
I used to live in Virginia - next door to Indians.
They stared all the time too and had been very unneighborly.
One day, I opened my front door and my car ran out. He had
been sitting in the window staring at a cat outside.
I opened the door and he took off after the other cat. The cat
outside belonged to my neighbor. My cat chased the other cat
in the house of my neighbor. Both cats ran up the stairs. I chased
behind them and went right up the steps too and ran into their
master bedroom where my cat was staring at their cat under the
bed.
My neighbor came up the steps behind me.
I scooped up my cat. We went back downstairs. Laughed about
it and they have never stared since.
It was weird and to this day I still don't get it.
I'm an Indian and I'm so sorry so many people have this impression of Indians, we've lived in Virginia and here now for 8 years and NEVER stared at anyone in our lives, black or white, nor do we know anyone who has. Sometimes our friends' parents do find looking around (the different culture here) extremely interesting and have stared in fascination, definitely not to be rude. I apologize on behalf of at least the non-staring Indians, and we have a very friendly culture which unfortunately comes with its set of inquisitive people. My husband and I have worked with and are friends with a lot of non-Indian people and have no problems with any of them. This is a beautiful and extremely friendly country that at least I wouldn't want to deprecate by 'staring' or any other rude behavior.
I don't think so, our neighbors were Americans and they were good friends of ours, we invited them to our Indian festivals, and they loved Indian food! We lived in Glen Allen, a suburb of Richmond. Didn't have any reason to stare at them

This story is suspicios because Indians don't like cats and dogs. I've got a Indian friend on my street... Patel ... he says Indians mainly like birds that u can keep in a cage and keep clean. Maybe there are some Indians with cats, but not many I'd doubt.
